Summary

Virginia Tech's Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit and Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) Management is a 12-hour graduate level program. Students may complete the certificate online by taking any four of the following five online courses:

  • Nonprofit Leadership and Governance
  • Nonprofit Organization and Management
  • Charity and Philanthropy and Civil Society
  • NGOs in International Development
  • Nonprofit Law and Ethics

Virginia Tech's School for Public and International Affairs is home to faculty and students interested in analyzing how all aspects of the public sphere function in both domestic and international arenas. The Nonprofit and Nongovernmental Organization Management Graduate Certificate was developed in order to leverage faculty expertise from the variety of disciplines that form the school, including: political science/government, public policy and administration, urban planning and community development, and international development.

For those students currently involved in the nonprofit sector in the United States or abroad who are seeking to enhance their knowledge of the nonprofit sector, the certificate provides graduate-level credentials. For those students who are new to the nonprofit arena, the certificate provides the essential foundations for pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector.
