| A PID is a Virginia Tech user account. It is a key to your presence at Virginia Tech and will give you access to administrative portals, your course websites, library research materials, and more. It also serves as your email account (yourPID@vt.edu). More about PIDs. |
You will not be able to successfully create a PID and password until you have submitted the Graduate School Commonwealth Campus application form or the VTOnline application form and received notice of acceptance by email. (Note: this email will not arrive until we have received your supporting documentation - if required - and had several days subsequent to receipt of documentation to process.)
If you are ready to create your PID, you will need the following information:
- The student ID number that was given in your acceptance email
- The major that was given in your acceptance email
