One of the most critical aspects of any manufacturing site is the capability of properly assigning cost to the final product. In today industry, information technologies are intensively used to speed up and maintain error free accounting transactions. However, without a basic understanding of the concepts behind those transactions, information could be useless for making strategic decisions. This short course will introduce the basics concepts of cost allocation for manufacturing sites, with emphasis on wood products industries. The course is designed to improve supervisor, engineers, middle managers, and high ranked executives cost allocation skills not only in wood products businesses but also in other type of industry.
