The Office of the University Bursar is responsible for all tuition, fees, and student accounts. Their website contains extensive details on topics such as tuition and fees, deadlines, payment instructions, refunds, penalties, tax information, and more. Information posted on the University Bursar's website supercedes that posted here. Tuition is applied at the time a student if officially registered in a course. Regardless of attendance or performance, students are responsible for tuition payment unless a formal request is made to be withdrawn and proper paperwork is submitted and approved. | Fees (do not apply to non-credit training)
Fall 2007 - Summer 2008
- Academic Fee: All students will be charged a fee of $87.50 US (from
1-6 credit hours) or $175.00 US (7+ hrs). **Prices are cut in
half during Summer Sessions
- Technology Fee: All students will be charged a fee of $9.50 US (from
1-6 credit hours) or $19.00 US (7+ hrs). **Prices are cut in
half during Summer Sessions
- Capital & Equipment Fee: Non-Virginia residents will be charged a fee
of $42.50 US (from 1-6 credit hours) or $85.00 US (7+ hrs).
**Prices are cut in half during Summer Sessions
- Application Fees: Admission to a Graduate Degree Program $45.00 or to
the Commonwealth Campus: $25.00 (non-refundable, US).
Admissions to a Undergraduate Non-degree Program $50.00
(non-refundable, US)
- Comprehensive Fees: Waived for students not taking any courses on the
Blacksburg campus
- NOTE: For all 12 week Summer courses you will have to pay the Academic Fee,
Technology Fee and Capital & Equipment Fee twice (once for both 6 week
session)

Payment
- Application fees (non-refundable) must be made before applications are processed. Undergraduate students may pay by credit card (either online or by phone) or by check. Graduate students may pay online by credit card or e-check.
- Students in courses awarding university credit will receive a bill via e-mail from the University Bursar for tuition and fees. Payments can be made by check, by money order, or online by credit card. Contact VTOnline or call 540-231-1264 will questions.
- Payments for non-credit training must be made in full before registration requests will be processed. Students can pay online or over the phone by credit card (mastercard or visa) or by check.

| Virginia Residency |
Tuition for Online Credit Courses- 'Virtual Campus' students are those participating in online courses at the Graduate or Undergraduate level. Virtual Campus students pay regular in-state or out-of-state tuition rates.

Tuition for Online, Non-Credit Training- Non-credit payments vary by course. See the individual course descriptions for costs. Payment for non-credit courses must be made in full before enrollment is granted.

Tuition for K-12 Employees in Virginia- K-12 employees qualify for reduced tuition. Documentation is required. See in-state rates below if you live in Virginia and work in Virginia schools.
- K-12 employees who live out-of-state but work in Virginia schools may qualify for some tuition reduction. Rates vary by state so contact us for details.
